2 Liter Oak Aging Barrel with Wood Stand, Bung & Spigot - Mini Whiskey Barrels

About this barrel

Two liters is a little over two and a half standard bottles: enough to share, but small enough to age quickly. This 2 liter oak aging barrel with stand, bung and spigot is new and listed at $75.90 by an independent eBay seller.

Is a 2L mini whiskey barrel a good first barrel?

For many people, yes. It ages faster than larger barrels but a bit slower than a 1 liter, which gives you some breathing room between tastings.

• Before filling: soak it with water so the staves swell and seal.
• Sampling: the spigot lets you taste without pulling the bung.
• Char: not stated, so check the listing.
• Ideas: bourbon, rum, Old Fashioned batches or red wine vinegar.
