Whisky Works “Solo” 1 Litre American White Oak Cask Wood Barrel Kit - New

About this barrel

The Whisky Works Solo 1 liter American white oak barrel kit is aimed at home distillers who want to see results quickly. At one liter, a lot of wood touches a small volume of spirit, so color and flavor build faster than in larger casks.

How fast does a 1 liter oak barrel age whiskey?

Small barrels work quickly, often in weeks rather than years. Taste often so the oak doesn't take over. Check the listing for any char or toast level the seller states.

• Kit contents: check the listing for what ships with the barrel, such as a stand, spigot or bung.
• Before filling: swell the cask with water until it stops leaking.
• Spirits to try: unaged whiskey, rum, or a bottle you'd like to smooth out.
• Gifting: it's listed as new, so it works as a present for a whiskey fan.
