What should you check on a used 1L oak barrel dispenser?

Wood that has sat dry can shrink. Look closely at the photos and ask the seller how it was stored and what it last held.

• Leak test: fill it with water and watch for seepage over a day or two.
• Tap and stand: both are named in the title. Confirm they're pictured and intact.
• Prior contents: a barrel that held whiskey can pass flavor to the next fill, which may be a plus.
• Fresh start: rinse it well before using it for a different drink.
