Small Oak Barrel Whiskey Wine Dispenser with Tap & Stand | 1L Spirit Aging Wood

About this barrel

Buying a small oak barrel whiskey dispenser secondhand can make sense, because a used 1L barrel has already given up some of its strongest oak. This one comes with a tap and stand and is sold used. It suits whiskey, wine or another spirit.

Is a used small oak barrel whiskey dispenser still worth buying?

Often, yes. A barrel that has been used before tends to age more gently, which many people prefer for longer rests or finishing. The key is making sure it still holds liquid.

• Ask the seller what it held before, since earlier contents can flavor the next batch.
• Check whether it has been stored dry. If so, soak it with water until it stops leaking.
• Look at the tap and stand in the photos for wear.
• The char level isn't listed, so ask if you want to know.
