Vintage Oak Wine Barrel Cask Rain Water Barrel Western Decor

About this barrel

Some character only comes with years of use, and that's the appeal of a vintage oak wine barrel like this one. The seller suggests it for collecting rainwater or as western decor. It would suit a ranch-style porch, a garden corner or a barn party.

Can a vintage oak barrel work as a rain water barrel?

It can, but old barrels vary. The condition is unspecified, so check the photos and ask the seller whether it still holds water before you plan a downspout setup.

• The title doesn't give a size, so confirm the height, diameter and capacity.
• Turning it into a rain barrel usually means adding a spigot, an overflow and a screen.
• As decor, it works as a planter base, a rustic side table or an entryway accent.
• Barrels can be heavy and bulky, so review the seller's shipping or pickup terms.
