What should you check before buying an antique primitive keg?

The condition isn't stated, so the photos and description have to tell you most of what you need. Look closely before you commit.

• Inspect the hoops for rust or slipping and the staves for gaps or splits.
• Ask for height and width, since the title gives no dimensions.
• Ask whether there's a maker's mark or a known age.
• Covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

On a mantel, hearth or farmhouse shelf, a small primitive keg like this adds warmth and history to a room. It's best kept as decor rather than used for aging spirits.
