5 Liter Wooden Oak Wine Barrel Beer Whiskey Rum Brewing Port Keg Home Bar US

About this barrel

Port, rum and red wine all take well to oak, and a 5 liter oak wine barrel gives you a home-bar-sized way to experiment with each. This new wooden keg is listed by an independent eBay seller for $52.00, with a title covering wine, beer, whiskey, rum, brewing and port.

What's the best first project for a 5 liter oak wine barrel?

A fortified wine like port or a dark rum is forgiving, because both pair naturally with oak. Taste weekly, since a small cask works quickly.

• Swell the wood with water until leaks stop before your first fill.
• Keep the barrel full between batches so the staves don't dry and shrink.
• "US" appears in the title, so check the listing for item location and shipping details.
• Confirm whether a tap, stand or bung is part of the package.
