5L/1.32gal Wine Barrels Vintage Whiskey Barrel Vintage Whiskey Barrel

About this barrel

A single 5L wine barrel can be filled many times, and each batch tastes a little different. This new oak barrel has a vintage whiskey barrel look, holds 1.32 gallons and is listed at $37.81.

Can you reuse a 5L wine barrel for multiple batches?

Yes. The first fill picks up the most oak, and later fills take longer and taste subtler. Many home users start with whiskey, then move on to rum, wine or cocktails as the wood mellows.

• Refill it soon after emptying so the barrel stays swollen.
• Rinse it with water before switching to a different spirit.
• Expect longer aging times by the third or fourth batch.
• Check the listing for the char level and accessories.

Before the very first fill, soak the barrel with water to seal the staves. Covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
