How do I judge an antique whiskey barrel online?

The size and condition aren't given here. Read the full listing and look through every photo, paying attention to the band tightness, any gaps between staves, and the top and bottom heads.

• Material: oak staves with metal bands.
• Room ideas: an end table base, a bar corner accent or a porch display.
• Measure first: ask for height and diameter if you have a set space.
• Decor first: treat an antique barrel as a display piece unless the seller says it holds liquid.
