What should you check on a Mappin & Webb spirit barrel decanter?
Ask the seller about the tap or spigot, any wear on the plating, and whether the interior is still sound. The data doesn't give the number of barrels or the capacity.
- Markings: ask for close-ups of any maker's marks.
- Use: if you plan to fill it, test it with water first.
- Cleaning: use a gentle polish on plated parts so you don't rub through the plating.
- Protection: covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
