Why do collectors look for Dutch Boy paint kegs?

The Dutch Boy branding is one of the best-known images in American advertising, and wooden shipping containers like this keg or bucket fit right into a general store or hardware store display.

• Display only: it once held lead paint, so use it as decor. Don't use it for food, drinks or aging.
• Check the photos: look closely at the labels, bands and any lid or handle for wear.
• Size: dimensions aren't given here, so ask the seller before you plan where it goes.
• Good fit: breweriana shelves, paint and hardware collections, or a rustic workshop.
