Vintage Antique Wood Barrel / Nail Keg / Cask with Wire Straps - 10" x 18" Tall

About this barrel

This vintage antique wood nail keg is a small cask held together with wire straps. It measures 10 x 18 inches, with the 18 inches being its height. An independent eBay seller lists it at $48.00. It's a piece of everyday history that works well as rustic decor.

Can a vintage wood nail keg be used for aging spirits?

It's best used as decor. Nail kegs were made for dry goods, and nothing in the listing says this one holds liquid. Plan to display it rather than fill it with whiskey.

• Use it as a side table base, a planter cover or a holder for kindling.
• The listing doesn't state the condition, so check the photos for cracks, loose straps or wear.
• If its history matters to you, ask the seller about its age or any markings.
• At 18 inches tall, this antique barrel fits the end of a shelf, a porch corner or a shop display.
